BA Glass acquires strategic stake in Sotuver, partnering with Bayahi Group to drive Mediterranean and African growth.

BA Glass Group, a leading European glass packaging manufacturer, announced the acquisition of a significant equity stake in Sotuver. This partnership reinforces BA Glass’ and Sotuver’s commitments to expanding their footprints in North Africa and to capture growth opportunities in emerging markets across the Mediterranean and Africa.

Sotuver is one of Africa’s leading glass packaging producers, serving a broad portfolio of food and beverage customers in north and Sub-saharan Africa and Europe, including several regional market leaders. This strategic alliance is designed to accelerate Sotuver’s expansion, leveraging the combined expertise of both groups to solidify the company’s position as a premier glass packaging hub for the Mediterranean and African markets. For BA Glass, this investment represents a calculated move to deepen its footprint in North Africa and reinforces its strategy to expand across high-growth Mediterranean and African markets.

Tiago Moreira da Silva, CEO of BA Glass Group, highlighted that "This investment is a defining milestone in our global growth strategy. Tunisia offers a unique combination of talent, infrastructure, and strategic location, making it an ideal gateway to African markets. By partnering with the Bayahi Group and the Sotuver team, we are committed to delivering enhanced value to our customers and driving technical excellence across the region."

Khaled Bayahi, CEO of Sotuver, emphasized that “Bayahi group is delighted to partner with BA Glass, one of the most respected players in the global glass packaging industry. This collaboration opens new horizons for Sotuver and reinforces our shared commitment to innovation and excellence, strengthening Sotuver’s position as a leading player in the region, and enhancing growth perspective for the Tunisian industrial sector”.

Tunisia: A Strategic Hub for Investment

This transaction reflects BA Glass’s confidence in Tunisia’s economic stability and its competitive advantages as an industrial hub in the Mediterranean region. The country’s strong industrial tradition in the agri-food and beverage sectors, coupled with supportive investment policies and qualified human resources, creates a favourable environment for sustainable growth and innovation.

This partnership is expected to unlock synergies and efficiency gains, combining local market knowledge with BA Glass’s technical and industrial know how, and creating a solid platform for long term value creation in the region.
